I Love quilted leather.
The challenge here was to use not only the heart shape which i have in this collection but all the other new shapes that will come out. Just like Escher patterns with fishes, butterflies etc, any form is possible!
To do this I’ve used first class nappa which is only used by a few other luxury brands in the world still! Just because of how expensive it is. A journalist touching them Said “Oh my what Did you use, human skin? It is so soft!”

I have made small things that we all put in pur bags as part of the collection: wallets and mirrors.
Coming soon covers for computer laptops, key chains and small things in our everyday life.
The mirrors are skull, Iris and heart in shiny glossy leather. The wallets are in ostrich or in quilted pattern leather!

Iris bauletto and Iris business bag were inspired by the love I have for my daughter Iris.
I wanted to make a bag in her name and I dedicated it to the beautiful flowers which I have always loved after seeing them in Van Goghs paintings in Amsterdam.
I myself have a garden with thirty different colors of this flower and every year I visit the Florence exhibition of the must beautifully grown Irises in the world.

For women I thought about romanticism and when designing for men i thought about history, strength, pirates, warriors and boxers. Physically strong and adventurous men.
Men are more and more intelligent and sophisticated in the choice of the objects they buy but still they are incredibly different from women. I believe these differences and our similarities are what makes men and women so incredibly interesting.
So the skull was a choice to remember the men throughout history. The warriors, the pirates and the soldiers. Those men that have used courage and love to fight through almoust anything in life.
The skull was difficult to make as its shape is so commonly used in fashion but little by little this became the perfect skull for me.
I used rope and skull too because of insipiration to ships, wars and conquering the world…
The bags for men are very rich in material. they both have “risvolti” of leather… and both are made in genuine unique ostrich and “nappa”.
A customer that buys these bags will surely feel that he can go on a bike, on a train, on a ship etc in everyday life with a strong, reliable and elegant bag.
A pleasant surprise is that many many girls have also ordered the skull bags!
There are two versions of skull bags; the one for computer laptop and the sports skull bag.

Another shape that kids love and my daughter adores is the shape of butterflies
The challenge here was to find a new way to use it without making an accessory that has already been seen in bags.
I was inspired by the lines of the butterfly wings when making an accessory that imitated the movement of the wings when flying. It was quite complicated to get it to work well.
When I got the first real prototype home I almost cried of happiness. My daughter asked me to play with it and after some doubts i gave it to her. She played all afternoon with it and the locking mechanism held up well! if it could survive my daughter it will survive time itself.
These bags are elegant but for everyday use too. The center of the bags is the accessory which is almoust a piece of jewellery. All the lines that the bags have tend to center focus around this beautiful object.
Metal accessories are all hand made antiqued golden brass. All these bags are made of calf napa leather which is one of the moust luxurious and soft leathers. These bags have different sizes: a poquette, a shopper and a “fiorentina” which is a medium size. These are a very feminine and romantic bags while the shopper with handles are more design and ironic modern styles.

This entire collection began with the idea of bags that had to look like paper on which a little girl had glued one of her favorite forms such as hearts and clouds.
What seemed quite easy and simple at the beginning ended up very complicated and almost impossible! There were so many challenges.
First of all I wanted the bag itself to keep its paper bag form but i didn’t want it to be stiff. Actually you can even bend these bags. The handle became functional and not only ornamental since we had to study a special material inside the handle so that the handle could take a lot of weight but not loose its form. We patented the handles. It took us six months to come up with this fantastic structural solution.
The bag’s softness was also a challenge because it had to hold the weight of the handle but at same time be so soft as to be folded. This has been the mother of all the other shopper that I will release in the months to come. We’ve overcome all the challenges and we’ll be able to finish all the fifteen collection handles!
The materials used are ostrich, crocodile, calf napa leather. There will be a version for the beach too.
Inside we use spaccato di capra, silk and cotton.
